This work is a contemporary interpretation of The Three Trees, a celebrated 1643 etching by Rembrandt van Rijn. The original, a masterpiece of Baroque printmaking, exists only in monochrome. This exclusive Surrealium edition introduces a full-color palette, reimagining the scene through a modern digital lens while honoring the master's composition.

A dramatic sky breaks over a wide Dutch landscape, where three trees stand against the gathering storm. Our artists developed a unique color treatment for this edition, bathing the scene in warm umber, ochre, and gold. Restrained touches of crimson and deep shadows create a powerful, cinematic mood, lending new emotional depth to Rembrandt's dramatic vision.

This exclusive color edition is available to all as an archival fine-art print or gallery canvas, with no subscription required. Members of the Fable studio enjoy an additional benefit: the ability to further customize this work, creating a piece that is uniquely their own.

Each piece is made to order in the EU on matte, museum-grade paper with archival pigment inks, ensuring richness and longevity. This edition was developed by the Surrealium atelier, located at Kastellet, a 17th-century sea fortress in the Stockholm archipelago, bringing a contemporary perspective to a timeless masterwork.
