Atelier Editions
A contemporary Surrealium colour interpretation, not a claim to recover the artist's intended colours.
Artist: Albrecht Dürer
Museum original and attributionThis work begins with a masterful pen and ink drawing by the Northern Renaissance artist Albrecht Dürer, created around the turn of the 16th century. The original study, housed in The Metropolitan Museum of Art, captures Saint Catherine of Alexandria with the intricate linework and delicate modeling for which Dürer is celebrated.
This Atelier Edition is a contemporary, AI-assisted color interpretation by Surrealium. It reimagines the original drawing with a new palette of mineral blue, muted green, and warm earth tones, bringing a modern sensibility to the precise Renaissance composition. This is an entirely new artistic interpretation, not a historical restoration of lost colors.
This exclusive edition is available to all as a fine-art print or gallery canvas. For those with an active Fable subscription, custom variations of this work can be commissioned. Each piece is printed to order on heavyweight, museum-grade matte paper using archival pigment inks for lasting color and detail. A new edition by the Surrealium atelier at Kastellet, a 17th-century sea fortress in the Stockholm archipelago.
