A wandering piper encounters a child in a vision: William Blake’s frontispiece illustrates the Introduction to Songs of Innocence. Blake first made the plate in 1789; the Met’s hand-coloured impression used here was printed around 1825. The scene joins poetry, music and imagination in a small, luminous image.

Surrealium’s AI-assisted edition takes its composition and colour direction from that museum source. The illustrated border remains part of the work, while empty exterior paper is removed for a closer view. Compare both images, or pair this print with the frontispiece to Songs of Experience to bring the two books into conversation on your wall.

The finished edition is available on fine-art paper or canvas without a subscription. Personal colour variations are available to active Fable subscribers.
