5 Pet Portrait Cushion Styles, from Tapestry to Garden

Compare five personalised pet cushion styles: Millefleur, you and your pet, Morris Garden, The Orangery and The Ruff.

Your pet supplies the character. The design supplies the world around them. These five directions in Fable Cushion turn the same simple idea—a portrait of someone you love—into very different pieces for the home. All pictures below are Fable demo room visualizations; yours begins with your photo.

1. Millefleur: a small garden for a beloved face

A thousand little flowers, one unmistakable sitter. The red Rose version gives the whippet in this demonstration a warm, jewel-like setting. Millefleur is a natural starting point if you love old tapestries, flowering borders and rooms with a sense of story.

The floral ground recalls the world of late medieval tapestry; see the Unicorn tapestry at The Met for historical context. This is a new Fable composition.

2. You and your pet: the companionship portrait

A cushion can tell a story about two lives together. This direction places the person and pet within a flowering composition. In the Ivory example, pale foliage and the seated figure make a quieter picture than the red Millefleur ground.

Choose a clear photograph of you together. Let the relationship be the central subject.

3. Morris Garden: leaves, rhythm and a familiar face

Morris Garden is for the person who loves botanical pattern as much as their dog. Curling foliage creates a dense green setting while the face remains the point of recognition. The Sage example suits a room of warm wood, old books and earthy colour.

The V&A describes William Morris’s attention to nature in his pattern designs. Fable’s direction is inspired by that tradition; it is not an official Morris & Co product.

4. The Orangery: a brighter botanical portrait

Big leaves and clear colour give The Orangery its cheerful rhythm. The Bottle green version keeps the ground deep while flowers, fruit-like shapes and the pet bring light to the surface. Pick it when you want the cushion to feel playful without losing its decorative purpose.

Try it beside a plain chair or a sofa whose colour appears somewhere in the pattern. Repeating one colour is enough to make the room feel considered.

5. The Ruff: a little court portrait

Some dogs already carry themselves as if they own an estate. The Ruff gives that character a theatrical setting: a lace collar, rich costume and portrait-like light. The dachshund in the Warwick example makes the contrast between small companion and grand presentation especially charming.

This direction also supports an optional name. It is a good place to begin for a pet gift with a sense of humour and ceremony.
