Giovanni Battista Piranesi’s The Triumphal Arch (c. 1745, 50) is a masterful Rococo fantasy, blending architectural fragments with overgrown nature. Part of his Grotteschi series, the original etching uses dramatic line work to create a scene of sublime, imaginative decay. This Atelier Edition is a contemporary, AI-assisted interpretation by Surrealium, re-imagining the original black-and-white plate in a new palette of weathered limestone, muted bronze, and verdigris, with deep blue shadows that amplify its architectural depth.

This exclusive color edition exists only at Fable. While Piranesi’s original work resides in the public domain, our version offers a completely new way to experience his vision as monumental wall art. This archival fine-art print or gallery canvas can be purchased directly, with no subscription required.

For those with an active Fable subscription, the experience goes further. Subscribers unlock the ability to customize this work, adjusting the color and composition to create a unique piece for their own collection. Every print is made to order on matte, museum-grade paper using archival pigment inks for lasting color and detail. This edition is interpreted by the Surrealium atelier at Kastellet, a 17th-century sea fortress in the Stockholm archipelago.
