The gold border of a paisley shawl catches the light first, then your face, then the long coat of the dog resting at your knee. Grand Duchess of Baden is built on Franz Xaver Winterhalter's 1831 portrait of Sophie Guillemette, Grand Duchess of Baden: a woodland slope above a lake, a white Romantic-era gown, a cashmere paisley shawl in warm ochre, a straw bonnet and scattered wildflowers.
Fable keeps that composition, palette and soft 1830s light, and puts you in the Grand Duchess's place with your own face, hair and build. Your dog comes from its own photo and settles on the ground beside you at a natural size, on its own four legs, with your hand resting on it.
Upload one photo of yourself and one of your dog, and see the painted preview before you pay. Keep it as a digital download or order it as an archival print, made in the EU.
Frequently asked questions
Can my dog sit beside me in this portrait?
Yes. Grand Duchess of Baden is made for an owner-and-dog sitting, so your dog stays dog-sized on the same woodland ground as you. Upload one clear photo of yourself and one of your dog, and Fable paints you together in the frame.
What should I wear in my photo?
A plain top and a clearly lit face are all Fable needs. The white gown, paisley shawl and 1830s styling come from the painting, so your own clothes only need to show your shoulders and face cleanly.
How many free previews do I get before paying?
Up to seven free preview renders per engine, and you see the painted preview before you pay. After that, pose or costume adjustments cost credits (3 edits per credit).
What sizes can I order?
A digital download starts at $39 and includes commercial-use rights. Archival prints run from $89 for 8x10 inches to $299 for 24x36 inches, and framed prints from $139. Shipping is free worldwide, and prints are made in the EU.
