How to share a digital Christmas card with family and friends

Send the finished greeting rather than an order page, and check that recipients can see both the picture and your message.

To share a digital Christmas card, use the finished card's greeting link, not the browser address from checkout or an editing session. Fable's paid digital card includes a branded page showing the front and message side, designed to be shared with friends and family without order information.

Finish the card before you send it

First review the portrait, front greeting and longer message in the Christmas card creator. Check names and make sure the words remain readable on a phone. The free watermarked preview is for deciding whether you like the result; the finished shareable card belongs to the paid digital order.

If you are still creating the card, our AI Christmas card guide explains the photo, style and wording steps. If you only want an image without a greeting or message side, use the ordinary portrait flow instead.

Use the link supplied for sharing

After the order is complete, use its card-sharing option or the greeting link provided with the finished card. Do not copy a payment receipt, account page or the address of a card that is still being edited. Those pages have different purposes and may not show the experience you want your recipients to see.

The greeting page should focus on the artwork and message with Fable branding. It should not display your billing information or purchase details. If you are unsure which link you have, open it yourself before sending it to a group.

Check the recipient's view

Test the link in a separate browser or a private window where you are not signed in. Look for the correct front image and the message on the other side. Read both at a comfortable phone size and confirm that you are viewing the intended card, especially if you created several versions.

Check three details in particular: the correct portrait, the final wording, and the absence of order information. If something is wrong, return to your order or ask Fable support for help before distributing the link. Avoid repeatedly ordering to try to solve a missing-link problem.

Send it with a short personal introduction

Paste the greeting link into the message or email you normally use to contact the recipient. You can add a simple line such as “We made a little Christmas greeting for you—open it to see the picture and read the message.” That tells people there is more than a static thumbnail to look at.

A messaging app's link preview may show only one image or a generic title. Judge the actual card page after opening the link, not only the thumbnail generated by another app. You can still send the link if that preview is plain.

Treat a shareable link as forwardable

Recipients may pass a greeting on to another relative. Keep the message suitable for that possibility. You can be affectionate without including private addresses, detailed travel plans or information someone else would not want circulated.

The digital order also includes front and back pictures to keep. If someone prefers an image, check those finished files before sending them. For a card that can sit on a mantel, compare the folded printed option.

Create a digital Christmas card, review both sides, and send the finished greeting when it is ready.
